Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: ne Wind Stength: 20 Surf / Sea State: flat and big Air Temperature: 16 Sea Temperature: 10 Weather: sunny Max Speed: 30.49 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 27 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Another windy/sunny day here on the East coast - I am now shot to pieces
after four days windsurfing !!! might have to give tomorrow a miss !!!!
Meet up with my mate Neil at The Dip at one and it was the most wind we
have had all week so everyone rigging 6m so I went for 6.6 and tried my new
100 fanatic cross for the first time. I had a mixed time on the small
board, a badly rigged sail didn't help and as the sea was still high the
speed strip was not ready but I ended up there anyway as it was too scary
to bear off in the big sea :( When I got in the River the wind was too
light to get going :( After adjusting the sail and harness lines things
improved and it's a easy board to sail and gybe :) Speed buddy Peter Cutts
arrived and rigged 7m to head to the flat water, I again headed for the
river finding some nice sea conditions in front of kite beach and met up
with Pete in the river put couldn't get going at all as Pete hit 30 kts !!!
Sailed back knackered and fed-up at 5:30 and was going to pack up but with
Pete flying in the river I quicky rigged the 7m and headed for the
river. The beat was slow going and I had missed the best conditions but
still managed to braek 30 kts and get a fair ave :) As the tide came in the
course became very bumpy I headed out to sea to try for a mile and had the
best run of the day flying in really broad and managed 27.19 kts but didn't
go out far enough to get a mile :(
